Marjorie Marie Wyatt was born on September 8, 1927, in Vivian, Louisiana to her parents Willie Wallace and Mae Ollie Mcintosh. She departed this life on August 26, 2025, in Houston, Texas. She was 97 years old when she departed this world.
In 1938, the family moved to Houston, Texas. At an early age, she joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She later moved to the New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where was a devoted member until her passing.
After graduating from Phillis Wheatley High School, she met and married Willie D. Wyatt. They were married for over thirty-five years and had two sons, Jerry and Leslie Wyatt.
Years after Willie Wyatt passed in 1983, she married Horace Bradford, but they later divorced.
She worked at the main U. S Post Office until she retired. During her employment, she received numerous awards and accolades for the gardens and flower beds she cultivated and maintained at the Main Post Office. She had a “green thumb” and a love for plants.
During her 97 years in this world, she lived a full and robust life. Not only was she a Wife and a mother, but she was also affectionately known as “Aunt Margie” to many nephews, nieces, and neighborhood children.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Willie Wallace and Mae Ollie McIntosh, Step-Father John Williams, Husbands: Willie D. Wyatt and Horace Bradford, Siblings: Arrie Wallace. Mae Ollie Nelson, and Billy Wallace, and grandson Gregory Haugabrooks.
She is survived by her two sons, Jerry and Leslie Wyatt, daughter-in-law, Margaret Wyatt: 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
