Mark Leija was born on December 22, 1961 in Houston, Texas to Florentino Flores Leija and Elidia Longoria Leija. Mark left to be with the Lord on December 15, 2020 at the age of 58. Mark joined the Houston Police Department on March 13, 1986. After 31 years of service, he retired on February 11, 2017. He went on to become the Security Coordinator for Midtown Management District.
During his early years, Mark enjoyed working on cars, cruising with his buddies, and hanging out at car shows. He later joined a motorcycle club where he was given the road name, Mopar. For several years, Mopar rode with his brothers Los Carnales/La Familia. He then moved on to become the Founder and El Presidente of La Placa LEMC.
When Mark wasn’t out riding his bike, he loved spending time with family, going on road trips, softball games, volleyball games, fishing, hosting crawfish boils, watching movies, and spending hours listening to his favorite music. Mark was genuine to everyone he knew and was committed to everything he did. He would see every obstacle through and never let anyone down. A real man of his word. His love for his family and friends was unconditional and that is the legacy he leaves behind.
To cherish his memory, Mark leaves behind his beloved wife, Christine Alcaraz, his brother, Adam Leija, and sister, Janet Leija, his children, Lori Leija and Mark Anthony Leija, his grandchildren, Isaiah Tatum, Lennox Leija, and Jazlynn Saenz.
