Mark S. Ziegler, age 96, peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 31, 2012. He was born in Big Spring, TN, the second of seven children, born to Mark and Hassie Ziegler. He had fond memories of growing up on the family farm.
He retired from the military in 1966 after proudly serving his country for 24 years; 9 in the Navy and 14 in the Air Force. He served in the following campaigns: North Africa, Sicily, Italy, English Channel and Korea. He then served 13 years with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, retiring in 1979.
Most of all, he loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church and cherished his church family. He was a devoted family man, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Faye Ziegler, daughters and sons–in-law Fran and Dan Zubik and Linda and Larry Stewart, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed, “You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side”
The family will greet friends Wednesday, April 4, from 6 to 8 pm followed by a celebration of his life service at 10 am on Thursday, April 5, in the Chapel at Forest Park Westheimer.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Sugar Creek Baptist Church, Benevolence Fund.
