Marlene C Thornton

Marlene Camilla Thornton, wife of H. S. (Sam) Thornton of Iola Texas, passed away on July 19th 2016. She was born in Houston, Texas on July 30th 1935, to parents Jack and Sybil Pietsch. She will be remembered for her generous hugs and joyous laughter that brought cheer to others. Sam and Marlene were married on October 13th 1951, and shared family and families for 49 years. Sam passed September 13th 2000, but she continued to love and cherish him in spirit.

She is survived by her children; Janet Morris and husband Doug of Iola, Texas. Linda Linder and husband Gary of Navasota, Texas. Kathy Brown of Iola, Texas. Glynn Thornton and wife Yolinda of Irving, Texas. Kay Wells and husband Jim of Singleton, Texas. John Thornton of Round Rock, Texas. Mamie Brewer of Bryan, Texas. Mark Thornton and wife Julie of Tomball, Texas. Marlene is also survived by her twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren; her sister Jacquelyn Carr, and her brothers Don Pietsch and wife Delores; Edward Pietsch and wife Carol. One sister-in-law, Patsy Thornton.

A Memorial service will be held at 11am, Tuesday July 26th 2016 at American Heritage Funeral Home 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, Texas 77038.
