

Marsha Marie McClain was born on November 20, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee, the third child of Forrest McClain and Alyce Powers McClain. Marsha, who was called Pinky as a child by her father, grew up with her siblings Edward McClain (Connie), Cynthia McClain Daniel (Bruce), Pamela McClain Bouse (Mark), Jacqueline McClain Hanson (Mark) and Forrest, Jr. During her childhood, the family moved several times due to her father’s career in the cattle business. Marsha graduated from Holy Cross High School, Lynchburg, Virginia in 1968. She then went to school to learn data entry in the rapidly growing computer industry, and she stayed in the industry for much of her work life. Marsha married Randy Ford in June, 1978. Though they later divorced, they remained friends and co parents of their two daughters, Alysha and Alexis.
Marsha loved being a mother and a grandmother to her five grandchildren, Including Alysha’s sons, Nikolas Ford and Jace Gautreaux, and Alexis’s daughters, Kaelyn Ford, Madilyn Vance and Jocelyn Vance. She was loved by all of her nieces and nephews and her great nieces and nephews. Marsha passed away on August 5, 2023 at the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother Forrest, Jr.
