Martha Nell Duckworth Elam

Martha was a dynamic, powerful woman who cherished her five children, daughter Marsha Elam, daughter Machel Jordan, son Marvin Elam III (wife Rhonda), daughter Maria Renee Newsom (husband John), son Michael Elam (wife Laura), as the love and light of her life, including her 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and her brother George Duckworth (wife Emily). She danced the kaleidoscope of life, wholeheartedly immersing herself into career, public speaking, writing and lifelong learning. Martha's achievements include national recognition in sales as husband and wife team, Elam's Photography, top producer Coldwell Banker and Re/Max, Reiki master, and published author of the book "In the Beginning". The family of Martha Elam sends much appreciation and gratitude to the President and staff of Silvercrest Assisted Living and Memory Care who extended incredible support and love in the final months of Martha's life, and to Bayou City Hospice for all their support in Martha's final weeks. A celebration of Martha Elam's life and times will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079 September 9th, 2023, 3:00 PM. Rev. Howard Caesar will be officiating Martha's memorial.
