Martha Elizabeth Mathews

Martha Elizabeth Mathews went to be with her Lord on March 21, 2018. She was born on October 26, 1935 in Tyler, Texas to parents Elizabeth and Edward Anthony Fernandez. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 25 years, Louis Dean Mathews. She is survived by her two daughters, Dena Elizabeth Roddy, Jacqueline Kay Blackwell; three sons, Kurt Dean Mathews, Joshua Edward Mathews, Jacob Hampton Mathews; seven grandchildren, Emily and Tess Mathews, Justin, Daniel, and Blake Roddy, Preston and Elizabeth Blackwell; four great grandchildren, Preston and Izabella Blackwell, Eden and Alli Roddy; sister, Mary Barnett; two brothers, Edward Roberts, Joseph Fernandez; and numerous friends and other family members.

The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home; followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Reception following the committal at Brookside Funeral Home in the hospitality room.
