Martin Wayne Mikosh

Martin was born in Goliad, Texas to Martin and Kathryn Mikosh on September 26, 1932. He graduated from high school in Goliad and later became a student at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. He served in the Army, was a veteran of the Korean War and was awarded several medals. Marty met Claudia Wimberly on a blind date on New Year’s Day 1958. Quickly realizing they had found their soulmate, they united in holy matrimony on April 19, 1958, at Saint Christopher’s Church in Houston, Texas. Marty and Claudia were blessed with three children, Lisa Anne in 1959; Damon Wayne in 1961 and Todd Weylan Michael in 1964. He retired from Beckman Instruments after 23 years and, never one to sit idle, then worked for the United States Government until 2006. Marty loved travelling and cooking with Claudia, spending time with family and friends, reading spiritual books and watching the Astros and Aggies football games.

Martin is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Claudia Mikosh; oldest son, Damon Mikosh; and parents, Martin, and Kathryn Mikosh. He looked forward to joining them and his best friends, Leo and Sara Jordan, and Bernie and O.A Bernsen in heaven to love and celebrate the Lord.

He is survived by his brother, Billy Mikosh, his daughter, Lisa Mikosh; son, Todd Mikosh; Grandchildren, Rachel, Michael, Joshua, Cody, Ian, Skylar, and Anya Mikosh and his great-granddaughter, Vanessa Mikosh.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Mikosh, Cody Mikosh, Michael Mikosh, Bert Mikosh, David Richardson and Scott Richardson.

A visitation for Martin will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A rosary service will occur Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St Justin Martyr Catholic Community, 13350 Ashford Point Drive, Houston, TX 77082. A committal service will occur Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079
