Martha, as she was known by many, moved to Houston along with her family to provide better opportunities for her husband and children. She was a staunch supporter and advocate for her children and others to pursue their education. Martha also established a steady, nurturing and loving home for her family. Although she was a stay at home mother, she held many other important roles. She was known as the neighborhood mom, school room mother, family taxi driver, St. Patrick’s baptism preparation teacher, Meals on Wheels volunteer, and many other roles that were greatly appreciated by those whose lives she touched. Martha’s door was always open, and she was always ready to help those in need.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Fermin “Chacho” DeLeon; her three children: Juanita Buchanan (Timothy), Roberto DeLeon (Maria Guadalupe,) and Cynthia Trevino (Hector); one sister, Teodora Mosqueda; seven grandchildren: Ashley Tyler (Eric), Cory Maradiaga, Caitlin Buchanan, Alexandra DeLeon, Isabella Trevino, Ava Trevino, and Carolina Trevino; six great grandchildren: Nicholas Maradiaga, Laila Maradiaga, Aidan Deleon, Caleb Tyler, Jacob Tyler, and Grayson Tyler.
