Marvin Earl Wilke was born in Damon, Texas on December 10, 1933, and passed away in Sugar Land, Texas on June 3, 2019 at the age of 85. Marvin was retired from a long career as a steel worker and a tractor mechanic, but never retired from being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved music, travelling, woodworking, and especially his great-grandsons. Marvin spent many summers in Chama, New Mexico with his wife, Charlotte, whittling, fishing, carving, and playing the harmonica and hand-made mountain dulcimers in a campground folk band.
On August 9, 1975, Marvin was married to Charlotte Ann Swann, who survives him. He was preceded in death by his son, David Earl Wilke. He is also survived by his daughters: Polly Wilke and partner Michael Crunk, and Christina Horelica and husband Randy Horelica; grand-daughter Natasha Horelica and boyfriend John Martinez; and great-grandsons and Juan "Johnson" Martinez III, and Marvin Jack Martinez.
Services will be in Houston, on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Interment to immediately follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
