Mary Anne Judson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, the 6th of November 2025. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on the 22nd of May 1936, she was the first child of Joseph Sarg and Margaret Streep. She was 89 years of age.
Mary Anne spent much of her youth in Kansas City, where she and her sister, Margaret, were lovingly raised by their Aunt Helen and Uncle Dale. They welcomed her into their home with open arms, teaching her many of life’s finer things—fashion, grace, and the joy of fine dining. Mary Anne cherished those years deeply and often shared fond memories of the laughter and love that filled Aunt Helen and Uncle Dale’s home.
A 1954 graduate of Southwest High School, Mary Anne was known for her beauty, charm, and kind heart—earning her the affection of many classmates and friends. On a blind date arranged by Aunt Helen, she met the love of her life, Dr. Jack Lynwood Judson. After Jack’s graduation from Yale Medical School, he proposed, and the two were married on the 16th of February 1957, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City.
Soon after, Mary Anne and Jack moved to Abilene, Texas, where she quickly fell in love with the warmth and southern hospitality of her new home. They eventually settled in Fort Worth, where Mary Anne devoted herself to raising their four children and building a loving home. She was a dedicated homemaker and volunteer, always active in her church and community.
Mary Anne especially loved planning summer vacations to South Padre Island, where the ocean air and sound of the waves filled her soul. She was a proud and devoted “tennis mom,” cheering her children on at tournaments across Texas and spending countless hours driving carpools to Shady Oaks Country Club and little league games.
Her life was defined by her generosity and service to others. A devoted member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Mary Anne’s love of flowers led her to volunteer with the Altar Guild and serving homemade meals to students at All Saints Episcopal School. Her compassion extended to the Lena Pope Home, where she devoted time and care to children in need. Her home was always open, and her warmth made everyone—especially the neighborhood kids—feel welcome and loved.
In her later years, Mary Anne moved to Houston, where she cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in the simple pleasures of daily life and never missed an opportunity to express her gratitude and love for her family. Her deep devotion, loyalty, and kindness left an enduring mark on everyone who knew her.
Mary Anne was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Jack Judson; her parents; her beloved Aunt Helen and Uncle Dale; her sister, Margaret; and her brother, Tom.
She is survived by her son, Mark and wife Melissa, her son, Tom, her daughter Beth and husband Curtis, and her son Bradford; grandchildren, Allison Timmons and husband Robert, Sarah Holz and husband Ryan, William Judson, Sophie Hayhurst and husband Skylar, Drew Judson and wife Stephanie, Connor Harrell and wife Sydney, Clay Harrell and wife Julianna, and Hannah Siegel and husband David; and six great-grandchildren, Foster, Hollan, Lane, Madden, Sadie Pearl, and John Michael.
Mary Anne will be remembered for her loving spirit, her faith, and her lifelong devotion to family and community. She lived with grace and gratitude, finding joy in every moment and leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to shine through all who knew her.
