

Mary Eade Bett, Siti, was born in Olean, New York, to her parents, Elias and Domina Eade, on January 28, 1930. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom, her parents, her sisters Margaret and Victoria, and her brothers, Elias and Fred.
She attended Olean High School (OHS) where she was President of her class, in the A Cappella Choir, the Girls’ Hi-Y and was a cheerleader. After graduating from OHS, she attended The New York State College for Teachers – Albany and was the first in her family to attend college. Mary was a member of the prestigious Myskania, Vice President of the Student Body, a member of the Press Bureau and a member of Beta Zeta Sorority.
Mary taught Business classes at Orchard Park High School, Portville High School and Olean High School in New York.
After marrying the love of her life, who she met in college on a blind date, Tom and Mary lived in Olean, New York, where he was an engineer for Clark Brothers Company. They were transferred to Shreveport, Louisiana where Mary was active at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Circle 8 and lead 6th grade students in the Great Books Program. In Shreveport, Tom and Mary met lifelong friends that became family including Blondell and Arnold Cupp and Oree, Doris, Valerie, Pamela and Debbie Marsalis.
Mary and Tom were transferred to Houston, Texas in 1965 where they made their forever home. After substitute teaching, Mary became a Business Teacher at Spring Woods High School in Spring Branch ISD for 5 years. She was named Registrar of Spring Woods and served 18 years in that role until she retired.
Mary was an active member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, St. Cecilia’s Women’s Club serving as Secretary, Hospitality Chair, and a Member of the Board. She was a 4th Grade Sunday School teacher and volunteered at The Gathering Place. She was selected to be a member of Delta Kappa Gamma (Lamda Alpha chapter) serving as President and Scholarship Committee encouraging high school students to enter the teaching field. She was an active member of the SWHS Retired Teachers Association and SWELLS and helped form The Silver Ladies, a groundbreaking retail operation.
She was an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs. She loved to complete crossword and other puzzles, entertaining, cooking and knitting. Teaching her grandchildren and their friends how to make Lebanese food made her so happy passing down her traditions and heritage. Her greatest joy was gathering family around the dinner table and feeding them with incredible meals while creating everlasting memories. She loved her siblings and nieces and nephews and made sure to stay connected to them.
She is survived by her children: Daughter, Karen Hix and her son Ryan, Daughter, Kathy Rose, her husband Bill and their children Kristine O’Brien (husband Patrick, children, Jamie, Katie and Mary). William Rose (wife, Victoria, children Jack and Emma) and Katie Rose; Daughter Krissie Lastovica, her husband Ronnie and their children: Lauren Holub (husband, Paul and children, Hannah, Henry and Hope), Lance Lastovica (wife, Melissa, and children Weston and Eli), and Luke Lastovica and Son, Thomas Bett and wife Gayanne and their children Sarah Pribyl (husband Christopher), Tommy Bett (partner Karen) and Rachel Bett and her cherished friends that became family to her.
A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, located at 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77024,
The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, Texas, 77024, on November 13, 2025, at 10:30 am with a reception to follow in the Community Center. The Rite of Committal will take place at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77079.
