

Mary C. “Big M” Jackson, 76, of New Orleans, LA, passed away on August 28, 2022 in Houston, TX.
Mary was born in New Orleans, LA to Frank and Olga Crump on May 20, 1946. She went to school at Joseph S Clark High School. She married James Jackson on November 20, 1965 in New Orleans, LA. She worked as a supervisor for the City of New Orleans in the recreation department for 26 years. She also owned a janitorial company for 15 years. She was involved in the city of New Orleans Mayor’s team; several women clubs and a bowling team. She received recognition from several of the Mayors of New Orleans for her work with the senior citizen Mardi Gras Balls and getting the pools of the city ready each summer for various communities. Mary loved her family and did anything to help them.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Olga Crump; her husband James Jackson; her sisters Ethel Crump, Celina Williamson; Cleo Terrell; Lucile Beaulieu; and her brothers Frank Crump and Joseph Crump.
Mary is survived by Paula Jackson-Ford, her daughter; Vurnell T. Ford, her son-in-law; her sisters Evelyn Lockett, Carol Anderson, and Charlotte Hughes, and her brother Michael Crump. She also had 3 grandchildren; Gabrielle M Green, Stephanie L Ford, and Robert D Jackson. She also has a list of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
