Mary E Carmona

Mrs. Mary Escareno Carmona, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother died peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the age of 96 due to natural causes. She was born in Houston, but spent much of her young life traveling back and forth between the U.S. and Mexico with her family. They lived in many places including Sunflower, Mississippi where Mary picked cotton alongside her family. Mary was married for 63 years to the love of her life Donaciano “Chano” Carmona, who preceded her in death in 2013. They traveled throughout Mexico and to many other places including Carmona, Spain and Paris, France.

She will be missed by her children Gloria E. Carmona and her partner Les Cianfrone, Jesse D. Carmona and his wife Anh, Sally Ann and her husband Gerardo Gutierrez, Mary Patricia and her husband Herminio Gomez Jr. and Joe Oscar Carmona and his wife Minerva. Mary was so proud of her many grandchildren, Alexander Lopez III and his husband Aaron Frey, Sarah Castillo and her husband Jimmy, Cassandra Gomez, Jessica Roy and her husband Abbott, Vincent Gomez, Marcela Carmona Luna and her husband Fernando, Victoria Gutierrez and John Carmona. She was also blessed with great grandchildren, Eli Castillo, Leila Castillo, Felix Luna and Theodore Roy.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the praying of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm, Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home Chapel, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077.

On Saturday, November 4, 2017, visitation will start at noon and will be followed by a Memorial Mass at 1:00 pm at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran Street, Houston, Texas, 77009. Burial will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery following the Mass. Family and friends are invited to a reception honoring our mom at the Gomez residence, 1121 Lindale Street, Houston, Texas 77022 after the burial.
