Mary was born on January 12, 1950, to Gerald and Emma Jo Poe in San Angelo, Texas. She graduated from UTEP in 1971 and went on to become a devoted school teacher, dedicating over 35 years to her beloved career before retiring in 2016.
Some of her favorite moments in life were spent with her family, cooking and enjoying games together. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Casler; her daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Damon Jones; and her daughter, Jessica Casler.
She is survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Emma Poe, and her sisters, Betty Jon Knous, Tommie Childress, and Virginia Stephens.
A celebration of life for Mary will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
