

Mary Rebecca Hildebrand Chauvin of College Station, Texas and formerly of Houston, Texas passed away March 20, 2012. She was born in Houston, Texas on August 27, 1929 to Claude Glenn Hildebrand and Edith Suzanne Maguire Hildebrand. She graduated from Milby High School in 1947. After a more than 30 year career with Humble Oil/ExxonMobil in Houston, she and her husband, “Rookie” retired to College Station, Texas in 1985 to be closer to their daughter and grandson. She loved and enjoyed her family and was a dedicated daughter, wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, Mom and Mimi. Her twin great-grandsons were the light of her life and they adored her. During her retirement, she volunteered at the Bush Library, enjoyed her line dancing group, worked alongside her daughter, and returned to ExxonMobil for a short period of time.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Chauvin Mariott; grandson, Jared Chauvin Mariott and Melony Brady and their twin sons, Hudson Paul Mariott & Sawyer Allen Mariott; foster daughter, Veronica Shields and husband, Carlo, and children, Curtis and Brianna; brother, Thomas Hildebrand and wife, Ella; sister, Joanne Hildebrand Swanda. Nieces and nephews: Brad Hildebrand, Jeff Hildebrand and wife, Mindy, Don Swanda and wife, Lynda, Dave Swanda, Sue Swanda, Nancy Swanda Coble and husband, Tim. She is also survived by extended family, James Allen Schilling and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney “Rookie” Paul Chauvin, Jr.; her parents, Claude and Edith Hildebrand; her sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Schilling Hildebrand and her brother-in-law, Donald Swanda.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25th at the American Heritage Funeral Home on Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston. Visitation will be held at noon prior to the funeral.
