

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Wanda Wright; her husbands: James V. Scott, Charles Simpson, Edward Fulton, and Stanley Dowlearn; and her beloved sons, Jimmy Dale Scott and Marlon Reece Scott.
Mary is survived by her brother, Donald Thomason of Hot Springs, Arkansas; her son, James Neal Scott and wife Cindy of Conroe, Texas; stepdaughters Anita Hall, Lisa Farmer, Mary Sanders, and Teresa Perkins; her daughter-in-law, Sarah Scott of San Antonio, Texas; grandsons John V. Scott and family of Jacksonville, Florida, Bryce A. Scott and family of Colorado, and Gregory L. Scott of Conroe, Texas. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched deeply.
Mary was an accomplished artist, writer, and musician. Her artwork and floral arrangements brought joy and beauty to many. She shared her love for music as the organist at First Baptist Church of New Caney for many years, uplifting the hearts of all who worshipped alongside her.
Mary had a deep passion for genealogy and spent many joyful hours researching her family’s history, uncovering fascinating stories and connections. Professionally, she held positions with Waste Management in Houston, Sears & Roebuck, and worked as a reporter and editor for the El Dorado News-Times in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Mary lived a full and meaningful life, filled with creativity, faith, and love for her family and community.
