Mary Della Gaines

Mary Minor Gaines passed away on Dec. 13, 2012 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Dec 6, 1936 and came to Houston, Texas with her family as a young child. She worked with the Houston Ladies Tennis Association beginning in 1971 and for the Houston Gun Collectors Association for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and friend who never ceased working. The time from her birth to her death was filled with a very blessed and busy life. She was truly the most thoughtful, compassionate, loving, cheerful, and faithful woman to all she knew and touched. She was a devoted caregiver to her aging parents, grandparents and in-laws. She emulated the best of what human beings strive to be because she was simply – the best. We were blessed to have her in our lives and doubly blessed to be her respective husband and children. We deeply grieve our loss but find joy and comfort in the life we shared with her. She was special beyond words. We celebrate her life, and we are so grateful to have shared it with her. She was preceded in death by both her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milam C. Minor, and brother, Ed Minor. She is survived by her husband Dolph Gaines, son Dolph Lee Gaines, daughter Lynn Zimmerman and her husband Joseph Zimmerman III, and their children LCpl. Michael Nordman USMC, Parker Zimmerman and Spc. Neil Zimmerman. The family requests a donation to your charity of choice in lieu of flowers.
