

Mary Louise “Lulu” was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend. She lived a long and beautiful life. She left this world peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17, 2023 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born on August 19,1926 in Houston, Texas. She married her first love Gilbert Gonzales on July 7, 1945 and were happily married for 75 years.
She volunteered at Our Lady of St. John Catholic Church for many years and later was hired as the Church Secretary. She retired on August 14, 2009.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Gonzales; parents: Hortencia and Lorenzo Medrano; brothers: Lawrence “Kid” (Polly), Robert (Delfina), Mike, Roger Medrano; sisters: Alice Flores (Roy), Nina Rangel (Sam); brother in law, Sammy Suarez; great-grandson, JC James Glasgow; great grand niece, Ava Rose Ledesma.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sister, Sheila Suarez; sister-in-laws: Eli Medrano (Mike) and Irene (Roger) and many nieces and nephews.; son: Gilbert Lawrence Gonzales; grandchildren: Candace Valerie married to Joshua James Glasgow Sr., Gilbert Gonzales II, Amber DeLynn Gonzales; great grandchildren: Victoria Ann Gonzales, Jax James Glasgow, Josiah James Glasgow, Joseph James Glasgow, Joshua “JJ” James Glasgow, Jr., Faith Lavaeh Castillo, Aniyah Nevaeh Davila; niece & goddaughter, Sylvia “Shebee” Ledesma married to John “Tony” Ledesma Sr., and their three sons John Anthony (Tony) Ledesma Jr., married to Jessica Marie, children; Kamiakin Rueben, Tehya Aylene, Taliyah Frances, Kenai Anthony, Tegan Rae; Derik Andrew Ledesma married to Lindsay Rose, son Elijah Quinn Ledesma; Brian Alexander Ledesma married to Pamela Mia, children; Xander Luke, Jacob Nicolas, Mia Gabrielle
She was a very devoted Catholic and loved serving her church. She was very involved in many ministries, Catechism Director, Church choir, Altar Society, Bazaar volunteer, Catholic Daughters, Legion of Mary. She also coordinated bus trips as fund raisers for the church to the Casino at Coushatta in Louisiana, the Shrine of the Virgen de San Juan in San Juan, Texas. She loved to cook, travel, spending time with grandchildren and especially the great-grandchildren. The greatest gift she leaves is being an example of Faith and Friendship to all who knew her.
