Mary Schexnider Grimes

Mary loved Cajun music, Cajun dances and Elvis Presley, but most of all loved spending time with her family. Mary's greatest joy was being a Mamaw to her grandchildren. Her love for them and their love for her was never doubted. Tiny yet mighty, Mary's fiery spirit and captivating bright eyes left a mark on the hearts of many.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Cormier. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Grimes; daughter Martha Hall and husband Brent; son Tony Grimes; daughter-in-law Lisa Grimes; grandchildren Garrett Grimes, Amber Hall, Autumn Hall and fiancé Dawson Florus; sisters Bonnie, Rosa Bell, Rose Mae and Shirley; brothers Ulysse and Milton "Mickey"; sisters-in-law Annette and Isabel; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6 until 8 PM on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Brookside Funeral Home-Champions, 3410 FM 1960 West, Houston, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home-Champions. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
