

On December 28, 1945 a beautiful and loving angel was born to Mary C. Johnson and William
A. Johnson, Sr. in Saint Joseph, Louisiana.
She was baptised at an early age and united with Mount Olive Baptist Church in Saint Joseph,
Louisiana. She graduated from Tensas Rosenwald H.S. in May, 1964. She attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Home
Economics in May, 1968.
Right after graduating from college she married and journeyed to Anchorage, Alaska.
Upon arriving in Anchorage, she became a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church
where she worked in the Finance Dept., served in the food pantry and taught Sunday School
for fifty plus years. She worked in the banking industry for over 44 years. She was employed by National Bank of Alaska now Wells Fargo until she retired.
Mary was preceded in death by her grandmother, Alice Gray (Big MaMa) who helped raise her
after losing her mom at an early age; her parents, William and Mary Johnson; sister, Georgiana
King; niece, Veleka Hill.
She leaves to mourn her memory two sons; Rodney Hamilton (Anchorage, Alaska) and Aaron
Hamilton, Sr. (Clovis, California); two grandchildren, Aaron Hamilton, Jr. (AJ) and Payton
Hamilton, Clovis, California; brother, William A. Johnson, Jr. Houston, Texas; sister, Ruby
Stafford, Houston, Texas; nieces, Larissa Mosley, CasSaundra Johnson and Rolanda Johnson,
Houston, Texas; nephews, Gregory Johnson and William Hill; great nieces, and nephews; and a
host of cousins and friends.

and Allie Harrison, Houston, Texas.
A memorial service for Mary will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 W. Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088, followed by a repast from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
