From a joyful childhood, Mary always spoke of her three sisters and one brother and graduating from M.B. Smiley High School. In 1972, she married Arthur Wiley, and this union was blessed with two children (Feliciti and Rodrick).
Throughout Mary’s life she encountered many hurdles, one being a loss of a child (Rodrick). As time passed, she was able to put her life back together and began a career as a dispatcher. She then began to work at the police department and a trucking company where she put her organizational skills to work.
The next phase she entered, she met Wayne Johnson which she was blessed with two more children (Jamie and Pamela). As time quickly moved forward, she found that her children needed her the most, she then became a stay-at-home mom.
Once she guided her children into adulthood, she decided to get back into the working world where she began her 20-year adventure as the Top Base Operator.
When her health forced her into early retirement, she began to indulge in what made her happy: music, crafts, decorating, traveling and putting her famous green thumb to use. As her health declined, she never relented as she continued to fight to the end. Ms. Mary L. Nowling Johnson will be remembered as a true fighter, very independent, dependable, strong-minded woman that will forever live in our hearts... Rest Well Queen.
