Mary Joyce Lowery Moore

Funeral services for Mary Joyce Lowery Moore of New Caney, Texas will be held Thursday July 2, 2026 at 11:00AM Brookside Funeral Home in the Grand Oak Chapel. The family will receive guests during visitation hours of 10:00AM-11:00AM on the same day.

Mary was born June 19, 1935 in Harris County, Texas to Lewis Alec Lowery and Azlee Claudine Harvey Lowery and passed away Sunday June, 21, 2026 at her home. Mary attended public school in Houston, Texas and was a full time mother and homemaker until the early 1970’s, when she went to work in various dental offices and eventually served as the President of the Texas Dental Assistants Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis A. Lowery and Azlee C. Lowery, her husband Damon P. Moore, her sisters Marie Watson, Bea Rohrer, Bernadine Sanders, and Bonnie Sanders.

She leave’s behind her daughter, Vanessa Nixon, sons, Perry Moore and wife Genie, Gerry Moore and wife Teresa, son-in-law James B. Hare, Daughter-in-law, Debbie Hare. As well as 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You!” to our lifelong “bonus sister and brother” Judy Robertson Shaefer and Robert Robertson for all of the love, support and kindness they have shown during this difficult time.
