She later met the love of her life Bob Main in Houston, Texas and they married on September 24, 1971.
Mary attended Ouachita Parish High School and graduated with the Class of 1960. She had a career as an Administrative Assistant and in her spare time she tended to her garden. Gardening was one of her greatest passions.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Willis Main Sr.; loving parents, James Marvin Smith and Janie Louise Smith; dear sister-in-law, Bobbie Sue Smith.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving step-daughter, Catherine Thurman, her husband Eric and their sons, Michael Clark, Parker and Jackson Thurman.; loving stepson, Will Main, his wife Melanie and their daughters, Reagan and Zoe Main; caring brother, Gary Vaughn Smith and her many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Mary will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
