Mary married Samuel F. McClain on December 28, 1957, sixty years ago. During World War II she worked in an airplane factory. She also worked on the railroad and as an elevator operator in downtown Houston. Mary was also a franchise owner of Dairy Queens for several years in Houston.
Mary is preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Gould; Siblings: Jeanette Hamilton and Jr. and Charles Barnes.
Mary is survived by her husband of sixty years, Samuel F. McClain; son, James Carroll and wife Sandy; grandchildren: Loren McKenna and BJ, Scott Carroll, Sam Carroll; great-grandchildren: Gilbert Ledesma II, Dylan Elasko, Misty Rain McKenna.
The family will be receiving guests on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. The funeral service will be on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:30 at The Chapel of Chimes located at Brookside Memorial Park.
