Mary Lucille (Mary Lou) Montgomery (87) passed away on Tuesday May 18, 2021, with her family by her side. Born out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on November 14, 1933 Mary Lou later relocated to Houston, TX with her late husband, Clifford (Ike) Montgomery.
Playing house as a child Mary Lou always gave herself the name Montgomery, so it's no surprise that one blind date was all it took for the two to know they were meant to be. Married September 4, 1953 Mary Lou and Clifford spent 55 happy years together raising two boys, Jeffery and Scott, and loving their grandchildren Sarah, David and Collin.
Mary Lou turned every Christmas morning into magic. Meticulously ensuring that every branch of the Christmas Tree was individually wrapped with lights and adorned with perfectly placed ornaments. Each gift was wrapped with care and topped with an elegant ribbon. The care, devotion and detail she put into Christmas perfectly surmises the role she played as wife, mother and grandmother (Mimi).
Coming into Mary Lou's home meant that you did not leave without a great story and a full stomach. Everyone was greeted with a warm welcome and an enthusiastic hug. Thanksgiving and family gatherings were always supplied with the best food and the biggest laughs.
When Mary Lou was not making magic on Christmas or turning a house into a home she spent her time volunteering with the Republican National Committee (RNC), Shriners Hospital and with her church, Living Word Church of the Nazarene.
Mary Lou is survived by her son Scott Montgomery, her granddaughter Sarah Inman and grandsons David and Collin Montgomery. Mary Lou is survived by two additional members to the family, as well: Vanessa Anne Montgomery, and Julia Montgomery. Mary Lou loved them as her own daughters. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford Montgomery and her son Jeffery Montgomery.
