

Mary Parmesan passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at age 73, after a lengthy illness. Throughout her health battles, she remained upbeat, positive, and full of grace. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A lifelong resident of Houston, Mary earned her degree in Psychology, with minors in Mathematics and Physics, from the University of Houston. She worked as a seismic processor for Western Geophysical.
Mary deeply loved her family and stayed closely connected with her sisters throughout her life. She held a special place in her heart for children and never forgot a birthday. She delighted in giving thoughtful gifts to her nieces and nephews, and later to their children as well.
She is survived by her sisters: Rosalie Maxwell (Lee), Elena Parmesan, Danielle Huddle (Cleveland), Anne Gafford (Keith), and Camille Parmesan (Michael Singer). She is also survived by her nieces: Sarah Ardis (Wes), Amber Ni (Charlie), Erika Mugavero (James), and Alyssa Dhulipalla (Jathin). Her surviving nephews include: Gus Gafford (Marcy), Travis Gafford (Dennise), Clayton Gafford (Reena), and Randall Gafford. Mary is further survived by her 13 great-nieces and great-nephews: Isabella and Nicholas Mugavero, Emerald and Eden Ardis, Lucas and Daniel Ni, and Iris, Owen, Olivia, Atlas, Niam, Ellora, and Narayan Gafford.
She is also survived by her cousins Greg and Steve Johnson of Illinois, along with numerous other cousins and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy J. Parmesan, and her father, Daniel J. Parmesan.
Pallbearers: Gus Gafford, Travis Gafford, Clayton Gafford, Wes Ardis, James Mugavero, and Jathin Dhulipalla.
Honorary Pallbearers: Randall Gafford and Charlie Ni.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, US, on May 30, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, with a Rosary from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm and a Celebration of Life to follow from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, US, on May 30, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm, with a Catered Reception to follow at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
