Mary was born in Weches, Texas to Thomas and Martha Johnson. She attended Glover High School in Weches, where she was the star of the volleyball team and graduated valedictorian of her class.
After earning an academic scholarship, she moved from Weches to the Houston area to attend secretarial school. She met her future husband, Andy, on a whirlwind blind date. They fell in love and married in 1951.
She had a sharp mind and crazy fast typing skills. She was a valued employee for several oil and gas companies, and eventually retired from Columbia Gas Transmission. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and knitting. She was also an enthusiastic card player and loved scratch off lottery games (in which she had an uncanny knack for winning)! She loved to travel and was fortunate to have experienced many wonderful trips in the US and abroad. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her children and precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Andrew C. Pedrazas. She also survived two of her grandchildren, Shane Campbell and Lee Pedrazas. She is survived by her daughter, Katrina Cunningham, son, Andrew Pedrazas. Jr, daughter in law, Sandra Pedrazas and sister, Lelia Whities.
She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and six great grandchildren who all affectionately called her "Mimi". Grandchildren: Shane Campbell, Matt Campbell, Courtney Keiser and husband Nathan Keiser, Lee Pedrazas, Nick Pedrazas and wife Theresa Pedrazas. Great grandchildren: Carlee Campbell, William Campbell, Mason Keiser, Charley Keiser, Thomas Pedrazas, and Daphne Pedrazas.
Mary was adored by many wonderful friends who brought abundant joy to her life.
