Mary Lou Precella

Mary Lou Precella, born on July 14, 1927, passed away on July 21, 2025, at the age of 98. A resident of Houston, Texas, since the age of 17. Mary Lou was known for her unwavering dedication and love for her family.

In her early life, Mary Lou demonstrated a strong work ethic, picking cotton as a child to help her father she also milked cows and worked in the crop fields.

She was the last surviving child of Neal and Minnie Kennemer., with with three brothers and two sisters who preceded her in death..

Mary Lou was also preceded in death by her son, Lanis Hitt, Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Janis Melton and Peggy Giangrosso. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything.

Mary Lou was a prayer warrior, holding faith for her entire family. Her life will be celebrated with a visitation at Pat H. Foley & Company, located at 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, Texas, on July 28, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas, on July 29, 2025, at 10:30 am.
