Who can find a virtuous woman? She is far more precious than jewels… Proverbs 31:10. Our mother has joined our Heavenly Father and the earthly love of her life, our Dad. How Blessed, we, her loving and devoted daughters, Sherry Quider Kirby and husband John, Karan Quider Mason and husband Bill, and Tommie Jean Quider, were to call her our mother. Many of life’s lessons we were taught by our Mama. The lesson of faith, the lesson of hope, and most importantly the lesson of unconditional love. She always stood by us. Mary Florence Murphy Quider, age 86, entered eternal peace the sixteenth day of July 2013 at the Silverado Sr. Living/Hospice Home, Plano, TX. She was a native and resident of Houston, TX. She is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Chester D. (Tommy) Quider, lost to the Korean War in 1950. Mary was a legal secretary for the John Mecom trust until retirement. She loved traveling, gardening, civic activities, volunteer work at the Methodist Hospital, and her church family. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church/Houston TX, until she moved to Humble, TX. There she moved her letter to FMC of Humble. We, her family, express heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care our Mama was given during her stay at Silverado/Plano. The staff and nurses were wonderful to her. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, July 19, 2013 at Brookside Funeral Home Grand Chapel with interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Dangerfield. Please share sympathies, condolences and memories online at www.dignitymemorial.com
