

Let us rejoice and celebrate the life of Mary Danna Romeo who is now in the loving arms of Jesus. On September 30, 2023, at the age of 97, Mary passed away in her home surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. Born on December 31, 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas, she is the daughter of Marion and Angela Aquilina. At birth she was given the name Josephine Ann. At the age of 2 she became very ill. Her mother, who was of strong faith and had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother promised that if she was healed she would be called Mary. Her life was centered around her strong faith, love of her family and doing for others. Living a life with God always at its center, what a beautiful example Mary was to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She has passed on a legacy of faith, prayer, love, kindness and giving of self to her family and loved ones, and has left the world a better place. Cooking, baking and sharing what she made with others was one of her greatest joys. Mary’s delicious cookies will be missed by many!
Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Vincent Danna. She is survived by their children Sam and wife Linda Danna, Marion Danna, Mary and husband Tim McKenna, Johnny and wife Rhea Danna. She is also survived by Angela and husband Steve Radusch and Mary Kay Danna who she felt were her children. Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 20 years Anthony (Tony) Romeo. She is survived by her step-children Therese Pallis, Charles and wife Renee Romeo and Edward and wife Cindy Romeo; Grandchildren Kimberly and husband Ryan Roth, Kristen and husband Tim Dosch, John Danna and fiancé Cynthia Silves, Joseph and wife Sloane Danna, Michael and wife Kelley McKenna, Kathleen and husband Ryan Martin, David Danna, Kenneth Danna, Elena and husband Brandon Jett, Alexandra and husband Stephen Moore; Kristopher and wife Daniela who she loved as her own; eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers Sam Aquilina, John Aquilina and sister Beulah Aquilina Ahysen.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Mary’s loving caregivers, especially Angie Gonzalez and Cici Camacho, who took such wonderful care of her and to the Full Heart Hospice nurses who were there to comfort her as she left us to be with God and all of His angels in heaven.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 5:30pm until 7:00pm with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00pm at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Rd., Houston, Texas. A reception will follow the Mass in the Parish Center. The Rite of Committal will be at held at 2:00pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
The Pallbearers are grandsons John Danna, Joseph Danna, Michael McKenna, David Danna, Kenneth Danna and Kristopher Radusch.
