Mrs. Scruggs was my VOE teacher at Sam Houston High School.  She was my favorite teacher.  She taught me so much..not just office skills, but also integrity, pride in yourself and your work, how to work under pressure and still keep a smile on your face.  She was a special person...kind, generous and fun to be around.  I traveled to several school competitions with her and we always placed in the top four.  She prepared us well.  She has well earned her place in heaven.  May God bless her and her family.

I was sorry to hear about the passing of your mother.  She was a great lady and I am sure you will miss her.  Cherish her memory and all the great times you had with her.  I will be out of town or the memorial services on Saturday, but you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Mary Scruggs was an incredible person that enhanced my life.  She was an extremely valued friend to the Rice family, as I have known her as long as my 36 year old known life.  She will be remembered and missed indefinitely...

Mrs. Scruggs was one of my homeroom teachers at Sam Houston High School in the 1970s.  My condolences to all the family. She was a very nice person. May the love of Jesus Christ be with you all.

Ms. Mary will be greatly missed. She is now at peace. May all her loved ones find comfort and peace in our Lord and Savior. Let us find comfort in our wonderful memories of times spent with her. Mary was a very sweet and loving lady. I will remember her beautiful smile and warm heart.
