surrounded by her family at the age of 54 years old. Mary was born in Decatur, Illinois on March
13, 1967 to John (Jack) Patrick & Lillian (Paddy) Patricia McCloskey.
Mary was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Every role Mary had was a cornerstone in
her life fortified by her tremendous faith and strength. Her compassion and love for each and
every person she knew was a great gift to all. Even in the last few days of her life, she laughed
and shared stories with each person in her large family. Mary is a shining example of how we
should each live our lives based on the values we were taught.
Although small in stature only, Mary’s love for everyone knew no bounds. She was so strong and
had a mighty spirit. In her lifetime she touched so many lives, not just family, as a preschool
teacher, kindergarten teacher and as the director of Joseph’s Coat, a social ministry at St. John
Vianney Catholic Church, her second home.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eric Sedbrook of nearly 30 years and two children, Molly
Lillian and Matthew Dean; her father, Jack McCloskey; her brothers, sisters, and their families:
Nancy and Jim Moore and children John and Kimberlea, Sarah and Vince Rapp and children
Trey, Caden, and Catherine, and Carrie and Joe Swinsinski and children Lillian and Wade; Jim
and Michele McCloskey and children Will and Eileen, Kimberley, and Mia; Tim and Monica
McCloskey and children Shannon and Michael Wells, Tyler and Karley, and Amanda; Julie and
Mike Koch and children Annie and Sean Finney and children Blaise, Colbie, and Sebastian,
Jackie, Thomas and Caroline, and Stephen; Bill and Sharon McCloskey and children Sydney,
Haley, and Riley; and Kathy and Chris Carter and children Kathryn and Allyson.
She is also survived by her mother-in-law Luanne Fry, father-in-law Delbert and Annette
Sedbrook; her sister and brothers-in-law and their families: Kristen and Patrick Roth and children
Zachary and Molly Williams, Branden and Josh; Laura and Andrew Shock and children Lilly,
