She met and fell in love with J. Frank Wesson, Sr. in Houston, TX and they were married on September 3, 1954. She retired from Sears where she worked as a HR assistant for many years. After retiring from Sears she worked for SAS Shoes. Mary loved being surrounded by her family. She also had a passion for working with her hands sewing, quilting and other crafts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J. Frank Wesson Sr., her mother Betha Oliva Woodyard, father, Presley Kenneth Woodyard and stepfather Sandlin Woodyard. Along with her brothers and sisters, Presley Kenneth Jr., Evelyn Woodyard, Colleen Woodrome, Jesse (Sonny) Woodyard, Wayne Woodyard, Geraldine Dixon, Yvonne Smith, Clarence Ray (Bud) Woodyard, and Russell Lynn Woodyard.
She is survived by her children J. Frank Jr and wife Melodie, Pamela Ruth Fain and Lynette Reeves and husband Kyle. Grandchildren, Jason, Ryan, Cassie, Amber, Kaitlyn, Bryan, Kendall and Chelsea. And Great Granddaughters Sophia and Lennon. Sisters Charlotte Maxwell, Teenie Barnett and Elaine Herman, and Brother Orian Woodyard. Numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She left a legacy of being a Godly loving woman, mother and granny.
A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
