Marylyn was born in Houston, Texas to the late, Luke and Mary Rose Patronella on the 23rd of July 1940.
Marylyn attended Marion High School. After high school, she married, Joseph Charles her husband of 66 years. For over 30 years, she was a member of multiple Italian organizations. Marylyn was a member of, Ladies of Sacred Heart, St. Joseph Altar Guild, and the Amiketos. Marylyn also enjoyed gathering with friends to play Mah-Jongg.
To know, Marylyn was to know there was always something cooking in the kitchen large enough to feed a feast.
There wasn’t a dish she couldn’t prepare, or a recipe she didn’t master.
Saturday afternoons had the smell of Suga on the stove, cooking for Sunday’s dinner. Family was everything to Marylyn and providing a feast for the family meant the world to her. She didn’t just cook for her family. She spent countless hours cooking for the Saint Joseph’s table, church, neighbors, and anyone that was sick or needed a meal. Being in the kitchen was true happiness for Marylyn. The only thing she loved more than cooking was her husband and her children. Marylyn was a one of a kind sister that loved her younger sister Cathryn more than words could ever describe. One of her family traditions was on Easter Sunday, making the Thorn of Christ and a homemade strawberry shortcake. That tradition was passed on from her mother, Mary Patronella, Marylyn didn’t skip a beat on traditions with her family, that was her most cherished time.
Marylyn is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Colonnetta. Marylyn is survived by her children Annette Colonnetta Devers and her husband Kevin Devers, Vince J.
