Matthew Moreno Martinez Sr.

Matthew M. Martinez Sr. was taken from us too soon on July 30, 2024. His loss was very

unexpected, and he will be extremely missed by those who loved him. Matthew was born

January 27, 1977 in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Matthew was one of six children; Maria;

Marky; Sylvia; Jamie; and Manuel Jr. Matthew acquired his GED from Houston Community

College, and being the hard worker that he was known to be, began working right after. He lived

the later years of his life in Coldspring Texas, where he loved and raised Brianna, Matthew Jr.,

Kaylanie, and Josephine Martinez. Matthew was strong willed and stubborn at times, but had an

enormous heart that loved many. He was kind, selfless, and the man that everyone could rely

on. Matthew was a wise man that excelled in his work in the oilfield, crane operating, and many

self made businesses. Truly, he could do anything that he put his mind to. In Matthew’s free time

he enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, cooking the best food you’d ever taste on the

barbecue, and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Los Hermanos bike club, and

found much happiness in his new found family.

Matthew was a kind soul that will be remembered by the many lives that he touched in his brief

time on this Earth. If you knew him, you knew that he loved many, and he stood strongly behind

every single one of them. They don’t make them like Matt anymore, and he will be extremely

missed.
