Their memory lives on through the lives she nurtured and the love she gave so freely.

Professionally, Maura had a diverse and accomplished career. She began her professional journey at Barwil Agencies, Ltd. where she served as an administrative assistant to the Captain in Charge, supporting international maritime operations with diligence and professionalism. She later worked for many years at a Tupperware distribution center, where her strong work ethic and dedication earned her the respect of her peers and supervisors.
After the passing of her father, Maura took over the family business and became a community fixture on South Padre Island, running and managing Jettie’s Bait Stand, a beloved local institution. Through her stewardship, she preserved a tradition of service to both locals and visitors alike.
In addition to her entrepreneurial work, Maura brought her talents to the legal field. She worked for several years with two respected downtown Houston law firms: Mellott Law PC, known for its criminal defense work, and Witek & Basilio PLLC, where she continued to support attorneys with administrative excellence and quiet strength.
Maura’s faith was the anchor of her life. She lived with compassion, humility, and unwavering love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her wisdom, laughter, and unconditional support will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that Maura is reunited in Heaven with those she so dearly loved. Her spirit will forever remain in the stories shared, the meals prepared, and the prayers whispered in her memory.
