I am Angel the 1st Grand daughter of May Chad Thompson - Johnson.  I was saddend deeply to find my Grandmother had passed away.  I had just recently visited with her and missed the opportunity to seeing her again.  But I will move forward knowing that my Grandmother loved me and I appreciate her diligence of keeping me in her heart and mind at times where I felt I did not belong.  She knows I always wanted a relationship  with my Father and I feel she stepped in to try and fill that void.  I love her for teaching me my history of the Thompson - Johnson blood line and sharing many photos of my Great Grands. It warms my heart to know she wanted me to know where I came from.  So I share this  here only to say I would love to continue learning more about our family tree and I would love to meet the rest of my family as well.

I love you and celebrate your life Grandmother!

May was a beautiful and special person in our lives. She was there when we needed spiritual uplifting especially during my mother's passing. I will always cherish those enduring moments. To the Thompson-Johnson family, please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences.  With loving memories, Jackie, Shani and Rodney Jr Clayton in relation to late Lois Griffin.

I loved my phone visits with Cousin Mae. She was always very encouraging and spoke the truth in love. Her memory will linger in our hearts.

Good morning, sorry I can't be there for the funeral. Please let aunt May know that I love her. Wish I was there so we could talk about the good old day's at the house. Love you guy's. 

Ms. Johnson was like another mother to me. She would always tell me don’t you be calling me Ms. Johnson, call me mom. Well then, mom it is. I’m going to miss hearing your voice and our candid conversations about life. She was feisty and full of love, we were kindred spirits. You have gained your angel wings, and   I know that your grandson AJ was waiting for you on the other side. Until we meet again, you two  keep watch over the family while you soar the heavens and universe together.  It’s always nothing but love ❤️ 

Miss Johnson. Is the best. She had no time to play with us.she made sure we were all in line.at all times..as kids and young adults. Tighten me up for sure..all love. 

When someone passes and leaves their physical form, what remains with us is the energy and memory of how they made us feel. From lasting experiences with our beloved, their actions, the things they said... we sift out that which drew the distinction of who they were as an individual - realizing that their being is and will always be unrepeatable. 

Reflecting on the woman that I knew as May Chas Johnson, my grandmother, I am reminded of her steadfast dedication to family and desire to maintain a connection with her lineage. She was proud of her name. Despite the physical or emotional distance that comes with life's ebb and flow, she remembered her kin. 

She skillfully provided for her family with the finesse of her hands, whether that meant sewing sharp outfits for her sons or preparing a memorable and mouthwatering Thanksgiving feast. And still, she was a woman of many dimensions - my father has recounted her knack for working with numbers and business-saavy nature. As her son, he has always spoken of his upbringing with great reverence, making it a point to remember how Grandma cultivated a value and necessity for her children to protect one another and stand firm in who they were. 

Upon my last visit with Grandma, she still maintained an undeniable integrity and shocking strength, despite her fragile and petite frame. I smiled, taking note of her example as she carefully braided her hair, outlined her lips in a rosy hue and climbed into the driver's seat of her Mercedes. I have always respected how she spoke with fervor and conviction. May Johnson was poised and unafraid to express her feelings, whether they were agreeable or not. Yet, even with a stern demeanor, her voice carried a sweet Southern cadence that rang with love. And that same gentle-toned frankness is what could unexpectedly make something she said send you into laughter. 

With her passing, the impression that is suspended in my spirit is her frequent affirmation: "I love my life." Even in hardsh

The Lord Has taken Our Dear Beautiful cousin. But, the many happy memories will remain in our hearts until we meet again May Chas.
