Megan Elizabeth Phillips Elrod was born on November 30, 1988, in Houston to Mary and John Phillips. Megan’s outgoing personality started showing at a young age and that led her to be the person so many people grew to love. Megan graduated from Cy Falls High School in 2007 where her creativity and passion for fashion led to her goal of becoming a fashion designer.
Megan then attended Texas State University in San Marcos with her childhood best friends who still share stories to this day. After college, Megan took on the role of Retail Manager at Dillards, instantly drawing the attention of her co-workers and managers. After moving to California for a few short years, Megan made her way back to Belton, Texas where she worked in the medical field for Cardinal Health. This led to an opportunity to work for Stryker. Megan worked diligently putting in lots of hard work and many late nights to make sure that her work was always completed and to the best standards for the patients who she greatly cared for. Working as a Senior Mako Product Specialist in Joint Replacement, Megan was proud to reach her goal for Stryker MPS Silver Club status for the second year in a row in 2023. With her strong work ethic and the chance to work with the best surgeons and hospital staff, reps, and managers, Megan was always grateful for the opportunities that came her way.
Megan was known for her vibrant and charismatic presence, embodying a larger-than-life personality that could light up any room. As a “plant mom”, Megan’s green thumb created a beautiful backyard oasis, enjoyed by all neighbors and friends. On weekends and evenings, she would usually be seen planting, weeding, watering to make sure that her garden would thrive. As a mom to Aidan and Ava, Megan showed constant love and devotion, always looking out for the very best that life could offer her children. They always had the unconditional love of their beautiful mother, and she lives on through them.
Megan passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024, after suffering a grade 5 subarachnoid hemorrhage surrounded by her loved ones. A loving mother, sister, daughter and friend to all, Megan leaves behind many broken-hearted friends and family. Megan is survived by her precious children, Aidan and Ava, loving and devoted boyfriend Jonathan Carlson, her parents, John and Mary Phillips, brother Matthew and wife Cindy, sister Caitlin Peters and husband Cason, nieces and nephews, Hailey, Landon, Addison and Grant.
