

She was preceded in death by her parents, the late, Esther and David Jones; and husband, the late Jack Butler. She is survived by her daughters, Pam Butler, and Janis Frank and husband Bob; granddaughters Jennifer Caras and husband Jason, and Stacey Cook and husband John. Deedie was a native Houstonian and graduate of San Jacinto High School in 1939. She was a founding member of the Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism, volunteered at Texas Children’s Hospital and tutored at Lovett Elementary.
Deedie was a wonderful mother and grandmother who cherished family above all else. She brought smiles, laughter and so much more to her family and friends. She always will be remembered for her incredible sense of humor, quick wit, generous nature and consummate grace. These memories will forever be treasured.
The family would like to thank Mary Bill, Ann Gaines, Yvonne Harmon and Marlene Lewis for the wonderful care you provided over the past two years.
A memorial service is to be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 10th of March, at the Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism, 801 Bering Drive in Houston. Please wear a hint of color to reflect her spirit and love for life.
