Melba Jean McCartney

Melba “Jean” McCartney, 69, passed away in Baytown, Texas on May 28th. She was born February 4, 1949 in Houston, Texas. Jean is preceded in death by her son, Howard McCartney, Jr.; siblings, J.L. Harrison and Benny Harrison; granddaughter: Rachel Jackson. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Leslie Jones, Ben McCartney, and Tracie McCartney; siblings: Nanda Gerich, W.H. Harrison (Bo), Benda White, Curtis Harrison; grandchildren: Janesha McCartney-Hollerman, Gregory McCartney, Demetrius Jackson, Edward Johnson, Jr.,Tierenecia (Necie) Johnson; great grandchildren: Yumi Hollerman, Zara Hollerman, Kelsey Hollerman, and Taylor McCartney; ex-husband: Howard McCartney.

Jean loved taking family vacations and watching the Houston Texans. Her family was her whole life. She enjoyed staying in touch with her friends on Facebook and loved the game Hayday. She would check on her boat first thing in the morning before she would fix her first cup of coffee.

Visitation for family and friends will begin on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be June 5th promptly at 10am. Both service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Fwy. Houston, Tx 77039. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park. Immediately following the service will be a reception at Brookside.
