Melba S. Prejean

Melba Sommers Prejean, a very generous, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, while maintaining a feisty attitude, passed from this life Thursday 12/22/2016. Melba entered this world 6/24/1925 to Mary Theresa Jones Sommers and John James Sommers in Lecompte Louisiana. She was 91 years of age.

She devoted her life to her husband and family and valued her religion, always living her faith and trust in God. A great joy in her life was spending time on outings, trips, and vacations with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. If it offered children entertainment, she took them. She also received great pleasure from volunteering at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church

Melba is survived by her husband of 69 plus years, Joseph Haywood Prejean, son James C. Prejean, daughter A’Laine Harrison Grothe, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.

A memorial Service will be held Tuesday 12/27/16 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway (Eldridge exit), Houston Texas. Visitation will be held 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with services immediately thereafter.
