Melba Jean Tittsworth passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on November 3, 2018 with her son by her side. She was born on March 19, 1934 in Madisonville, Texas to parents, Jannie (Sarah Jane) and Melvin Terris Thompson.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents, Jannie (Wiseman) Thompson and Melvin Thompson; and her infant sister, Clara. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, William T. Tittsworth, her son William T. Tittsworth Jr. and wife Shelly; her daughter, Gina Lynn Huffman; her grandson; Chad Alan Bean and wife Yoko; her granddaughter Erin Lynn Tittsworth and great grandson, Austin William Bean; as well as a host of friends and other family members.
Melba graduated from Reagan High School in Houston, Texas, Class of 1952 followed by a year of business school. Bill and Melba married in 1953 in the Heights area. She retired from Harris County in April of 2000, where she served as the Secretary for Judge Tom Lawrence and Juvenile Docket Clerk for 14 years.
After retirement they moved to the family ranch in Shepherd, Texas where they enjoyed family time and the beauty of living in the country.

The family will receive friends for a visitation Friday, November 9, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (open casket); a funeral service on Saturday, November 10 at 12:30 PM (closed casket) in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home; with a burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park and Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
