Michael C. Boyd, 79, passed away on April 21, 2026. She was born in Houston, Texas, on November 15, 1946, to her parents, Jesse Flinn and Rena Mary Flinn. A longtime resident of Humble, Texas, Michael’s life was marked by steady devotion—to her work, to those she cared for, and to the people and animals she loved most.
Michael met Elroy in Humble, Texas, and together they built a life rooted in family and commitment. She dedicated 55 years to a nursing career at Bretshire, a remarkable span of service that reflected both her diligence and the deep pride she took in caring for others. Her dedication was not simply a matter of duty; it was a calling she truly loved.
Outside of work, Michael embraced life with energy and wide-ranging interests. She found joy in cooking and caretaking, and her love for family remained at the center of all she did. She also pursued adventures that spoke to her independent spirit—riding motorcycles, enjoying snow skiing, and earning her pilot’s license to fly small aircraft. Michael’s appreciation for fashion was another enduring passion, one she enjoyed wholeheartedly. Through it all, her affection for her animals was constant and boundless.
Michael was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy Theis; her son, Paul Theis; her parents, Rena Mary Flinn and Jesse Flinn; her brother, Timothy Flinn; and her grandmother, Mary Rose Flinn.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Theis; her grandson, Shannon Theis; her granddaughter, Ashlyn Theis; and her great-granddaughters, Jayden Singh and Teigen Singh.
Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on May 2, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at Brookside Funeral Home on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm. A Committal Service will take place at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on May 2, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
Serving as pallbearers are Doug Andrews, Mark Lashonb, Josh Orick, Mark Stevens, Will Manning, and Shannon Theis.
