He attended St. Thomas High School 1945 – 1949.
Later he married Lena Marie Romeo and enlisted in the US Navy as cook on the naval ship. He was quite the entrepreneur. His next adventure was cosmetology school and he opened his first salon on Main Street. He made quite a name for himself as a stylist to many Houston socialites in the 60s. In the 70s he took over his brother-in-law’s grocery store. His career finale was opening Uncle Mike’s Italian Bakery.
Preceded in death by his wife, Lena, son, David and daughter, Lisa.
Survived by his children: Daughter Michele Bua and her children, Andie Marie and Austin Alexander. Son Michael J. Bua, Jr., wife Diem and her son, Toby Nguyen. Daughter Melissa Bua. Daughter-in-law Jan Bua Osterhaus and her two sons, David M. Bua, Jr., Eric J. Bua, and her husband Duane Osterhaus.
Michael enjoyed baking, gardening, and listening to live music. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Society and Goodfella organization.
He danced through life with that infectious smile, handsome looks, and beautiful head of hair. He was so happy with Lena Marie wrapped in his arms for 65 years!
