

Michael Francis Graham PhD, 85, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully left this earthly life be with God on Friday, 28 February 2025. He was a devoted family man who provided love, support, protection, and guidance. Michael is survived by his son Michael F. Graham, Jr. MD, and wife Jae; daughters Karen Therese Graham MD and Mary Margaret Haff and husband Brian; his late wife’s daughter Lorraine Hornby and son Steven Batchelor; sister Ann Florence Werner, sisters-in-law Mary Virginia Jelusich and Jean -Marie Graham; grandchildren Lauren Ashley Graham, Ethan Michael Graham, Anthony Graham, Kaley Brianne Haff, Kendal Ashley Haff, Holland Batchelor, and Ethan Batchelor. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank John Graham, mother, Florence Ann Graham, brother Stephen P. Graham MD, brother-in-law Frank Werner, and loving wives Margaret Ann Graham and Jean Kitty Graham.
Dr. Graham was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Beverly where he developed his lifelong love for the Chicago Bears and White Sox. He attended undergraduate school at the Illinois Institute of Technology majoring in physics. He proudly served his country as an officer in the US Navy from 1961-1965 aboard the USS Constellation. During this time, he married Margaret Ann Jelusich and they had their first child, Michael Jr. Soon after, he attended the University of Illinois where he pursued his PhD in physics and his daughters Karen and Mary were born. He also developed his love for the fighting Illini, often convinced he might hex them when he watched them play. His career as a petroleum engineer with Exxon led him to Houston. He retired from Exxon in 1996 which allowed him to spend quality time with his wife of 33 years, Margaret Ann, before her passing. They had been avid round dancers which is what ultimately lead to his meeting Jean Batchelor with whom he would share 22 years of marriage, which included dancing, traveling, laughter and time spent with family. until her passing in 2023. He is now joined with dearly departed family and friends and the loves of his life. He will be greatly missed.
Public visitation for Dr. Graham will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 10:30am until 11:30am, with the funeral service beginning at 11:30am in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. The committal service is at 1 pm at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX.
