In 1982, Michael moved from Ohio to Texas, where he built a life rooted in hard work and family. After retiring, he relocated to Florida to enjoy the beautiful beaches he loved so much.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a door gunner. Following his military service, he dedicated 28 years of his career to Kroger, where he worked as both a diesel mechanic and truck driver, known for his strong work ethic and mechanical skill.
Michael had a deep passion for cars. He spent countless hours working on them, including rebuilding his beloved antique Cadillac, and enjoyed attending car shows whenever he could. He also had a sharp mind for technology and founded his own computer business, Nu-Tech Computers, where he shared his knowledge and love for building computers.
He also found joy in the simple things—spending time with his beloved dog, Moocher, and caring for his fish tanks. He had a true love for music and dancing, and some of his happiest moments were spent enjoying his favorite songs and moving to the beat. Above all, Michael cherished time spent with family and friends and loved relaxing by the beach.
He is survived by his children: Michelle Hochstetler; Michael Hochstetler (Sheena); Melinda Robles (Jose); and his stepchildren, Barbara Kremling (David), and Wilbert Lee Lopez (Cindy). He was a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
