Michael Lee Kowis

He was born in Houston, TX on July 22, 1955, as the middle child to parents Johnnie Lewis Kowis and Helen Ruth Camp. Before his retirement, Michael was a licensed plumber.

He enjoyed watching Old Westerns and loved spending time with his baby girls, Arianna, Madison, Kaylie, and Brianna, who he acted as a grandfather to after the passing of their grandmother, Michael’s sister, Debra.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Lewis Kowis; mother, Helen Ruth Camp; brother, James Christopher Winters; and sister, Debra Diane Brooks.

He is survived by his sisters, Judy Gail Daricek, Cathy Mae Randall-Knott, and Elizabeth Ann Winters; his brothers, Gary Lynn Kowis and Mark Anthony Kowis; and his baby girls, Arianna Brooks, Madison Brooks, Kaylie Brooks, and Brianna Brooks.

A visitation for Michael will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. A committal service will be held the same day at 3:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, at the same address.
