November 25, 1959March 7, 2020

Michael Anthony Vento, 60, of Houston, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 7, 2020, in Schulenburg, Texas.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rachelle Vento and their black lab, Tank; parents, Anthony and Antoinette Vento; siblings, Valerie Whaley and husband, Alan; Steven Vento and wife Diane; Donna Arnold and husband, John; brothers-in-law, Roger Blaschke and wife Deana; Bobby Blaschke and wife Jana; nieces and nephews, Brittany Callihan, Rachel Whaley, Keli Barham and husband Zachary, Kyle Vento, Zachary Arnold, Meagan Arnold, Kaleigh Blaschke, Brennan Blaschke, and Braxton Blaschke; great-nieces, Kaylee Callihan, Kaylee Barham, and Olivia Barham. Michael was born in Houston, Texas, on November 25, 1959, and grew up in Oak Forest. He was a life-long parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Houston, where he was an altar server for many years in his youth. Michael was a graduate of Waltrip High School and held an associate degree from Houston Community College. For the last 13 years, he worked as a Mechanical Designer for Satake USA in Stafford, Texas. Before Satake, he worked at Cornelius Nurseries for many years as a Landscape Designer, acquiring a strong passion for plants and landscaping.

Michael was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle, and he was a man of deep faith. He was always full of life and had a knack for making people smile and laugh. Michael had a strong love for his family and his Italian heritage. Next month, Michael and Rachelle would have celebrated 30 years of marriage. He had a generous heart and was always giving gifts and his time to friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews and those in need. He loved celebrating the holidays, and Christmas and Halloween were two of his favorites.

He truly loved the outdoors, including fishing and hunting. On the weekends, Michael could be found fishing at the bay with his dad and brother or at the ranch with family and friends. Throughout his life, Michael also had a tremendous love for riding motorcycles, both on and off-road.

Pallbearers are his nephews, Kyle Vento, Zachary Arnold, Zachary Barham, Brennan Blaschke, and Braxton Blaschke; and his dear friend Roy Kruemcke, Jr.

My sincere condolences go out to the entire Vento family. Every one in the family touched my life in ways I'm sure they don't even know. Michael, being Donna's oldest brother was always the life of the party. I loved spending time at their house, watching Michael's latest dance moves he'd learned from watching Soul Train, and him teaching me how to correctly eat spaghetti, looking for the "marinating black olives" that his amazing mom would have to hide in the house so that they had time to marinate, being introduced to cool bands like Chicago, to participating in my first ever "Chinese fire drill" with him and his friends after taking me and Donna to get late night snacks at the 7-11. To the Vento family, my your memories bring peace until you see him again.

I am so sorry for the family’s loss. I am blessed to have worked with Rachelle and heard many fun stories of Michael and their relationship. One of the last pictures she shared was of Michael’s costume last Halloween, it was too good not to share! May God be with you all during this hard, sad time.

Mickey - my nick name for Mike, as when you sit next to someone at work for 12 years, you will become a friend, and friends give each other nicknames. And Mickey was a wonderful friend, we spent hours talking about life (in the breaks at work), he shared with me his love for Rachelle, worries for Mum and Dad's well being, joys with all the nieces and nephews he spent time with. We joked, that there is too many "Kyles" and "Kellies" in the family, as with my English as a second language, all sounded the same...Mickey took me, my husband and my brother fishing few times, and Dave and I spent hours with him at the ranch hunting, shooting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers. Mickey loved to share with friends everything he had. He loved to put smile on someones face. He was such a joker, he even managed to get his funeral on Friday the 13th... Halloween was his favorite holiday to celebrate at work, as many times we had costume contest and Mickey would dressed up with such an imagination, and he loved when coworkers couldn't guess who it was...
My Dear Friend, your empty cubicle brings tears to my eyes everyday...Rest in Peace.
My prayers for all family.

God gave us our son for 60 years. Many wonderful memories from friends and relatives mean so much to our family. It is hard to process his death . I do believe God has taken our son to be with him because of his strong faith, his kindness to all, his love and compassion to those who have so little. He was a son that any father would be so proud of and his leadership in the family. He was a blast to go fishing and hunting with. He and Rachelle had such a great loving relationship and they both made sure to stay in touch with all their nieces and nephews. We will miss him forever but God will see us through this . We love you Mike Mom and Dad

My heart is broken for you my dear friend Rachelle, even though I never met Michael, it was always lovely to hear you talk about him while at work and all the things you and he would do, spending time with Tank, going to the ranch, fishing, travelling to California and Hawaii. I only hope all the wonderful memories that you shared together will give you some comfort going forward. He will be forever your guardian angel watching over you and keeping you safe.
Sadly I can't be there with you but please know I'm with you in spirit.
God bless you and all the family.

I went to school with Michael and I do believe that he literally had that perpetual smile everyday you saw him. He was always happy and smiling and his smile made you smile. We used to see him pretty much every weekend in the Spring at Cornelius and we would chat about have you seen so and so and what happened to so and so and we would just laugh. He would always have a story and every story would also include his wife who he was very proud of and loved very much! I admire men when they include their wives in even when they are not there and he did just that. Wonderful, wonderful man. Rachell we have never met but I felt like I knew you when he would speak of you. The beam in his eyes when he would tell sweet stories of you will never be forgotten. Our hearts are heavy with you right now and pray his beautiful memories will help you through this time. God bless you Rachelle and Rest In Peace Michael until we see you in a wink,
