

Michael L. Wayne, age 56, passed away suddenly Monday, May 19, 2014 in Austin, Texas. Michael was born in Fort Worth, Texas on March 5, 1958. Michael attended Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth and then graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington where he majored in Business and Marketing. After college, he had a successful career in oil and gas sales and marketing for over 33 years during which time he lived in Norman and Edmond, Oklahoma and Mandeville, Louisiana, before finally settling in Katy, Texas in 1993. It was in Katy that Michael and Marilyn, his wife of 32 years, raised their two children, Hillary, also of Katy, and Creighton, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Michael was a loving husband, dedicated father, wonderful uncle, and passionate Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. Michael enjoyed coaching his kids’ baseball, football, and softball teams each and every season they played while growing up and never missed a game! He impacted so many lives as a coach and mentor to everyone who was lucky enough to be on his team! Michael is preceded in death by his mom, Louise Wayne. Michael is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughter Hillary, son Creighton, uncle William (Bill) Ford, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macy Chenevert Endowment Fund 1405 E.S.E Loop 323 Tyler, TX 75701. The visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 6-9pm. A funeral Mass will be said Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11am at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in Katy.
